The concept
The Funcos are the traditional houses of Chã das Caldeiras. They have a circular shape and their facade is made of volcanic stone.
At EcoFunco, each room has a private bathroom with hot water.
As part of an ecological approach, the furniture is made from pallets. Rainwater is collected to supply the well, and the water used is recycled and reused for watering the plants and flushing the toilets.
Electricity comes from solar panels, and water is heated by a solar water heater.
Unlimited Wi-Fi is also available for guests.
Located at the foot of the volcano, EcoFunco is the ideal place to discover Chã das Caldeiras and the starting point for hikes (volcano climbing, via ferrata, descent to Mosteiros, trekking in the Bordeira).
